Our Story
Homelessness in San Francisco has been a wrenching problem for decades, so seemingly intractable that most residents simply look away. In 2013, Doniece Sandoval had three experiences that compelled her to open her eyes and truly see—and then to act.

Our Core Beliefs

It’s more than a shower
Access to hygiene and sanitation are a basic human right.

Hyper-local matters
The strongest most sustainable solutions come from the community.

Relationships matter
How you serve people is just as important as the service itself.

We all need to be seen
Because when we’re ‘invisible’ we lose our sense of humanity.

Small acts make big impact
A simple gesture—a smile or a wave hello—can make a big impact on a person’s day.

Dignity is a two-way street
It encompasses both the way you feel about yourself, and how you’re treated.
